Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Outpatient Services and Urgent Crisis Center to lead, develop, and oversee comprehensive mental health services for children, adolescents, and adults.The Urgent Crisis Center (UCC)—located in New London—provides immediate, no-appointment-necessary care for children and teens experiencing behavioral health or mental health crises, including thoughts of suicide or self-injury, depression, anxiety, out-of-control behaviors, substance misuse, or other urgent concerns. A dedicated Director oversees the program to ensure efficient and high-quality care. Our Outpatient Mental Health Clinics, located in New London, Groton, Pawcatuck, and Westbrook, offer individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. Family Therapy is central to our clinical approach, with caregivers routinely involved in their child’s treatment to foster a holistic, supportive healing environment. These clinics are supported by two Program Managers who oversee operations and clinical services across locations.In this critical leadership role, the Senior Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed care while driving program development, staff supervision, and operational excellence.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic direction for four outpatient clinics and the Urgent Crisis Center, ensuring best practices in crisis intervention and mental health care.Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in service delivery.Oversee program operations, clinical standards, and compliance with state and federal regulations.Develop and implement policies that enhance patient care, accessibility, and staff well-being.Cultivate relationships with community stakeholders to advance partnerships and increase access to services.Manage budgets, funding sources, and resource allocation to support sustainable growth.Collaborate with the Director of the UCC and Program Managers overseeing outpatient clinics to ensure seamless coordination of services.Serve as a thought leader in behavioral health, advocating for improvements in crisis intervention and outpatient care.Qualifications:Minimum 7 years of experience in behavioral health leadership, crisis intervention, or outpatient services.Master's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field (clinical licensure preferred).Proven ability to lead diverse teams and develop impactful mental health programs.Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, and crisis stabilization models.Exceptional communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.Experience managing budgets, grants, and regulatory compliance.Why Join Us?This role offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact on children, teens, adults, and families by shaping crisis intervention services and outpatient care.
