Small plate pairings, comfortable atmosphere, and an extensively trained staff round out Vino Volo’s award-winning guest experience.Job Summary: The Associate is responsible for serving customers at the bar, in the lounge or in the retail area of a store. This is a full-time or part-time non-exempt position.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvide excellent service to customers. Engage customers in a friendly and approachable manner, answer any questions they may have, quickly serve them wine and/or food and tender paymentActively up-sell customers on bottles of wineEnsure that all food orders are prepared quickly and properlyResponsible for wine knowledge including, but not limited to flavor profiles and talking points of current list along with our pricing guidelinesEnsure that all alcohol beverage control regulations are followed. Help prevent underage and intoxicated persons from being servedClean, stock and maintain the storeOther duties as neededPosition QualificationsEducation and Experience Requirements: A four-year college degree is preferred, and two years of college education is required. Work experience must include one or more years as a server in a well-respected full-service restaurant, wine bar or equivalent position in the hospitality industry.Knowledge And SkillsSkilled at and enjoys delivering excellent customer serviceEnthusiasm for wines and a desire to learn more about winesHighly responsible and reliableExperienced with and proficient at using retail point-of-sale systems21 years of age or older (must be able to taste and evaluate product)Ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in writingAble to work overtime or late into the evening in the event of flight delaysAble to carry and balance a tray of full wine glassesAble to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
