Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a Tax Manager with a Private Equity firm. In this role, you will take on new responsibilities such as overseeing tax compliance for various entities (funds and management company) and collaborating with external accountants and investor relations teams, all while working in the vibrant West LA area. This position offers significant opportunities for career growth, allowing you to deepen your expertise in tax regulations and financial services within a dynamic private equity environment.Responsibilities:Collaborate with external tax accountants to review and submit annual federal (Forms 1065 and 1120), state, and other tax returns for various limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations within designated timelines.Partner with Fund Accountants to conduct tax withholding analyses on distributions to investors, including the coordination and review of Forms W-8 and W-9 as necessary.Engage with the Investor Relations team to respond to tax-related inquiries from investors.Work alongside Fund Accountants, portfolio companies, and external tax accountants to prepare taxable income estimates and review calculations for tax distributions.Support the evaluation of transaction tax structures and the fundraising review process.Coordinate with external tax accountants and fund administrators to ensure adherence to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Common Reporting Standards (CRS), and other relevant tax regulations.Receive and manage federal and state tax regulatory notices.Collaborate with Fund Accountants and external tax accountants to report annual 1099s and 1042s, ensuring timely processing of any tax payments or refunds.Review draft and final Schedule K-1s and tax returns for accuracy before distribution and filing.Assist with any tax audits that may arise.Prepare calculations for use tax, property tax, LA City Business Tax, and SIFL for the management company.Oversee and coordinate PTET payments.Review GP financial statements, tax returns, and quarterly estimates.Stay informed about new and updated tax regulations affecting funds and businesses.Qualifications:Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.Master of Taxation degree is preferred.CPA certification is preferred.4+ years of experience in public accounting.Background in financial services clients or industry experience.
