Join us in making a difference in our community!Position Title: Peer Recovery Specialist(3 Day Work Week!-Wednesday, Friday & Saturdays 10am-10pm.)Location: BH Link (East Providence)BH Link is searching for enthusiastic professionals who are looking to make a positive impact in the Rhode Island community! BH Link is a 24/7 triage facility providing assessment and referral services for adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use crises.The role of the Peer Recovery Specialist is to provide compassionate, person-centered support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises, drawing on lived experience to foster connection, trust, and hope.Peer Recovery Specialists are uniquely positioned to support clients emotionally and practically throughout their visit to BH Link, assist in navigating available services, and collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure each client receives respectful, recovery-oriented care.Other Roles and Responsibilities:Leverage lived experience in the area of mental health and/or substance use recovery for the betterment of clients and community members.Cultivate and utilize expertise specific to knowledge of community resources and supports.Provide peer recovery evaluation services for clients in behavioral health crisis.Offer insight and consultation to clinical and administrative staff as appropriate.Assist clients in filling out paperwork, as needed.Provide information about the BH Link for clients, friends, and family.Help to ensure the comfort and safety of clients throughout their visit to BH Link.Help to ensure environmental safety on and around the grounds of the program.Guide clients through safety checks during their entry into the BH Link facility.Assist in facilitating transportation to and from the BH Link facility, as needed.Assure that facilities are clean, presentable, and safe prior to the transition of a client from the waiting room to their designated treatment bay.Maintain documentation and logs, as appropriate.Provide additional clinical and administrative support as needed.Desired Skills:Able to establish professional boundaries in order to provide a therapeutic experience for service recipients.Personable and compassionate in approach.Able to build rapport with clients within a short period of time.Able to apply learned verbal de-escalation techniques with clients in crisis.Works well in a team setting and communicates effectively with other professionals.Proactive and engaged when working with clients and co-workers.Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments.Multilingual professionals.Experience and Education:Minimum high school diploma (or equivalent) Preferred 1-2 years' experience in human services or other relevant experience.CPRS Credentialing acquired or in progress (progress may be initiated during application period)Job Type: Full-timePay: $19.00 per hourExpected hours: 36 per weekBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible scheduleHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offRetirement planVision insuranceMedical Specialty:Addiction MedicineSchedule:12 hour shiftDay shiftEvening shiftEvery weekendMonday to FridayEducation:High school or equivalent (Required)Experience:Human services: 1 year (Preferred)Mental health: 1 year (Preferred)License/Certification:CPRS Certification (Preferred)Driver's License (Required)Ability to Commute:East Providence, RI (Required)Work Location: In person
