We're looking for a Structural Steel Estimator with detailing experience to turn complex drawings into precise, competitive bids for fabrication projects.Why This Role Matters:Your expertise will bridge the gap between design intent and fabrication reality – ensuring bids account for every beam, bolt, and weld while maximizing our competitive edge.Key Responsibilities:✔ Analyze structural steel drawings & specs with a detailer's eye for constructability✔ Quantity takeoffs focusing on fabrication efficiencies and material optimization✔ Cost modeling incorporating:Raw material (plate, W-shapes, HSS)CNC cutting/forming labor hoursWelding & assembly processesCoating/painting requirements✔ Collaborate with detailers to identify value-engineering opportunities✔ Develop bid packages including alternates and clarifications✔ Post-bid analysis to continuously improve accuracyIdeal Candidate Profile:✅ 3+ years estimating structural steel fabrication✅ Detailing background (experience with Tekla, SDS/2, or AutoCAD)✅ Fabrication knowledge – understands how shop processes impact costs✅ Proficient with Bluebeam, estimating software (WinEst, B2W, etc.)✅ Technical communicator who can explain constraints to GCsWhat We Offer:?
