Terms of Employment W2 Contract, 18 months (Possible Extension)This position is onsite in Byron, IL and other Midwest nuclear facilities.The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 AM-4:30 PM. Local candidates preferredOverview Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer to author and develop design change packages and provide design engineering support for nuclear power plant refueling outages. Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.4 years of experience or more (negotiable).Experience in Structural Design Engineering for industrial plants.Ability to obtain and retain unescorted nuclear power plant access.Ability to obtain and retain radiological worker qualifications.Provided designs for piping, motors, structures, transformers, or heavy equipment.Facilitated structural issues such as equipment vibration or piping vibrations.Desire previous experience with Extended or Stretch Type Power Uprates (EPU or SPU), Turbine Replacements (Turbine Retrofits), Nuclear Main Generator Replacements, or Steam Generator Replacements.Previous experience with power plant systems analysis (e.g., containment validations, reactor embrittlement, license extensions, vibration analysis & mitigation).Preferred Skills & ExperienceMaster of Science in Structural Engineering.
