Carpenter (Entry Level) $21.50/HR

 Participate in the repair and maintenance of park rides and facilities using standard carpentry and construction methods.Essential Job Duties:ï‚· Work as part of assigned crew performing rough and finish carpentry work as well as other facility repairsï‚· Perform daily, weekly, monthly inspections, and routine preventative maintenance on the Joker roller coasterï‚· Interpret and follow work orders and/or verbal instructions in order to complete assignmentsï‚· Troubleshoot repairs and construction problems to determine best work methodï‚· Make a variety of repairs to buildings, roofs, fences, gates, walls, flooring, doors, stairs, carpet, fixtures, etc.ï‚· Build various items as assigned: shelves, framing, enclosures, fences, ramps, stairs, storage units, cabinets, etc.ï‚· Perform take offs for various projectsï‚· Adhere to all departmental and company safety policies; wear appropriate safety equipment as requiredï‚· Communicate daily to department management the progress of assigned tasksï‚· Assist in other Maintenance and Construction Trades as neededï‚· Other duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications:ï‚· Should possess a thorough operational understanding of carpentry procedures and methods as well as a working knowledge of building codesï‚· Must possess a working knowledge of the safe use of hand and power tools and large power equipment including table saw, drill press, band saw, etc.ï‚· Must be able to read, write and understand Englishï‚· Must possess a CA valid driver's licenseï‚· Must be able to follow oral and written instructionsï‚· Must be able to read blueprints and interpret rough layouts or sketches, Must possess basic math skillsï‚· Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, able to work varied schedules to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the operational needs of the Parkï‚· Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to safely perform the job duties; must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, squat, twist, push and pull and lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.; must be able to reach overheadï‚· Must be able to safely perform work functions at heights in excess of 100'Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
