Opportunity Overview: The Master Control Operator ensures the reliable transmission of all programming for ATVN, an MSO-based community network with a large focus on high school and college sports. Where you will work: The Master Control Operator will work in the office in Bath, PA. A Day in the Life of the Master Control Operator: Prepare programs for air, including recording from transmission feeds and cueing live shows Monitor on-air signals and transmission systems to ensure consistent quality of programming Load, schedule, and operate automation systems for playback of prerecorded content Verify that all content is properly formatted and aligned with the program schedule Respond quickly to technical issues during live or scheduled broadcasts, minimizing downtime Maintain accurate programming logs Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate technical problems to leadership when necessary Assist in testing and maintaining master control equipment and automation software Other duties as assigned Our Astounding candidate will possess: Skills & Abilities: Understanding of signal flow and technical standards for video/audio playback Knowledge of television production basics Knowledge of FCC broadcasting rules and protocols Attention to detail and ability to quickly respond to on-air issues Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Required Education and/or Certificates/Credentials: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Media Communications, Broadcasting, or related field preferred Experience: 3+ years of television production Previous experience in a master control or technical operations role Familiarity with automation systems We are Proud to Offer an Astounding Benefits Package Including: Rewards: Competitive compensation plan Entertainment: Free internet/video/phone service if you reside in an Astound serviceable area Retirement: 401k with employer match and immediate vesting Family: Paid parental leave and insurance benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision/Life/Disability) Professional Development: Paid training & tuition reimbursement program Leisure and Fun: Employee discount program Live YOUR Life: Generous paid time off plans Impact: Established, yet growing, organization where you can make a real impact! The base salary range in Pennsylvania for this position is $25.00 - $29.00 per hour, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Pennsylvania and may not be applicable to other locations.
