Union Maintenance Mechanic

What this job involvesThe Maintenance Technician performs both preventative and corrective maintenance to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment/systems in assigned facilities. This role involves assisting Mechanics in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. The position includes conducting inspections and repairs to property interior and exterior areas, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, and more.Your day-to-day tasks will include:Performing HVAC maintenance, including cleaning coils, changing filters and beltsMaintaining and repairing locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, and furnitureDocumenting and maintaining fire extinguishers and other building systemsRepairing plumbing components such as toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, and water heatersPreparing, priming, and painting building surfaces and performing general handyman tasksPrioritizing and completing preventative maintenance, corrective and emergent work ordersComplying with safety procedures and maintaining good housekeeping in work areasUpdating work order status in real time using the CMMS systemEscalating problems to customers and managers in a timely mannerDesired experience and technical skillsRequirements:Experience with hand tools and power toolsProficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, Outlook, CMMS/Maximo)Minimum 1 year of related experience in carpentry, electrical, and plumbingHigh School Diploma or equivalentAbility to lift up to 80 lbsComfort with frequent climbing, bending, lifting, kneeling, stooping, and overhead workAbility to work in adverse conditions (extreme cold/hot)Capability to work from heights up to 30 ft on ladders while carrying toolsAvailability for call-in work as requiredPreferred:EPA Universal LicenseBAS (Building Automation Systems) experienceExperience with preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment#MMjobs
