Charter Manufacturing is a fourth-generation family-owned business where our will to grow drives us to do it better.  Join the team and become part of our family!We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Furnace Operator to join our heat treat team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for operating heat treatment equipment, handling steel coils, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the annealing process. You work 5pm to 5am on our 5-2-2-5 schedule (5 nights on, 2 night off, 2 night on, 5 nights off)What you'll need:A high school diploma or GED (we can help through the GEDWorks program).Forklift experience – you know how to handle one safely.Prior experience working with industrial furnaces, annealing departments, heat treatment operationsComfortable with basic math (like counting and simple calculations).Can communicate clearly with team members.A team player who works well with others.Can follow directions and also help guide others when needed.Good at solving simple problems on the job.What you'll do: Operate and monitor box annealing furnaces.Use a forklift to load, unload, and move coils.Stage and identify coils properly.Cut coil samples using hand or power tools.Monitor furnace settings and complete required paperwork.Work with maintenance to fix equipment issues.Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.Keep the work area clean and organized.Follow all safety, environmental, and quality procedures.Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Nice to haves:Some manufacturing experience in the metals industrySafety training – you know how to stay safe and follow safety rules on the job.We offer comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits, along with a 401(k) plan that includes employer matching and profit sharing.
