As a 3PL, we specialize in full truckload (TL), less-than-truckload (LTL), drayage, rail, and international ground and air freight. Description: Fifth Wheel Freight is a top-performing 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) company obsessed with speed, precision, and relentless improvement. We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our high-pressure, high-reward team. This is not a role for the average developer – you’ll be working side-by-side with the VP of Technology and senior leadership to build proprietary technology that directly shapes how we dominate the freight market.  Note: This role requires 100% on-site work in our office in Kentwood, MI for the first 90 days of employment, with potential for a hybrid schedule following. What you’ll do:  Architect and build mission-critical applications from scratch. Demonstrated experience in:  RESTful API development Modern JavaScript frameworks for front-end development Database design and integration Unit and End-to-End automated testing methods and tools.
