Overview: The Payroll Accountant / Analyst is responsible for collecting, reconciling, and recording all payroll data with minimal supervision.  Additionally, the Payroll Analyst is responsible for interpreting the results to identify trends, areas for improvement, and make recommendations on payroll-related activity for all brands and subsidiaries within the organization. Responsibilities: This position is based in Louisville, KY. In office to start then hybrid schedule.  Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversee/upload automated payroll data weeklyWork closely with Payroll and IT departments to ensure processed payrolls are accounted for appropriately and any payroll clearing variances are identified and resolved weeklyWork closely with HRIS to ensure PTO expense is accounted for appropriately and any material roll forward variances are identified and resolved; create data analysis reporting for brand review by Directors with notation of changesReconcile all payroll and benefit related balance sheet accounts to multiple external systems and data sources, researching variances as needed on a monthly and annual basisProvide payroll data analysis for brand review and work closely with Directors and brand accountants on any additional reporting or variance resolutionIdentify automation opportunities and lead process improvement initiativesField various ad-hoc requests for data and reportingCross-train and provide back up for BonusesPerforms other related duties as assignedCompetencies Demonstrated expertise in accounting conceptsAdvanced Excel skillsDemonstrated knowledge of GAAPAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretionThrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environmentAbility to recognize when priorities need to shift Qualifications: Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance1-3 years of relevant accounting experience required with at least 1 year in payroll accounting preferred#CH500
