Our passion is solving our customers’ 21st century maritime challenges with quality and integrity.The Shock/Environmental Qualification Testing (EQT) Engineer will be responsible for performing and reviewing shock and vibration analyses and calculations, preparing and/or reviewing test procedures, extensions, test reports, witness testing on equipment, participating in full ship inspections and test trials, and providing technical project leadership and management for Department of Defense programs in support of complex U.S. Navy ship designs.Location: This is a hybrid remote position. Must be local to our Washington DC office in order to attend customer meetings as needed. Will also consider candidates who can work out of our Philadelphia PA, New York NY or Newport News VA offices with the ability to travel to DC for customer meetings.Primary ResponsibilitiesSolving mechanical, structural, and/or engineering problems in the areas of EQT including shock, vibration, EMI, noise, etc.Performing technical analyses using U.S. Navy specifications, Design Data Sheets, Technical Manuals and/or commercial rulesPerforming quality assurance reviews of products such as analyses, calculations, reports, and drawings.Supporting offsite EQT test or trial eventsSupporting Test and Evaluation Manager with Live Fire test planningPerforming shipboard inspections to validate designs and proper installation thereof.Developing, documenting and briefing interdisciplinary teams on technical specifications, analysis, calculations and test procedures for validating system performanceActing as Technical Lead and providing administrative supportBasic QualificationsU.S. Citizenship and Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance)B.S. Degree or Higher in Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline2+ years of experience working in EQT or test programs on US Navy ship programsAbility to work independently, in person and remotely, and as a member of an interdisciplinary teamExcellent MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint and ExcelAbility to travel up to 25% of timePreferred QualificationsExperience with various software packages for the analysis and design of equipment and/or ship structures such as Femap/NASTRANExperience using SIMPLEProficient using computer software to produce engineering calculations, spreadsheets and technical reportsExperience with non-destructive testing and associated military grade specifications and standardsOriginal Posting:June 5, 2025For U.S. Positions: While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
