The Autism Language Program (ALP) at Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a full-time ASHA Certified Speech-Language Pathologist with Massachusetts licensure (or license eligibility) who specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) with a focus on autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This is not a Clinical Fellowship position.The ALP provides dynamic, individualized evaluations and interventions for individuals with complex communication profiles. Clinicians are encouraged to pursue AAC-related research and develop specific clinical interests that align with the mission of the program.Location: Waltham outpatient clinic, with possible expansion to Brookline or other sites.Schedule: Full-time, on-site with potential hybrid flexibility in the future. One Saturday per month required, with potential for expanded Saturday coverage.Key Responsibilities:Perform AAC evaluations using a feature-matching approach for individuals with a primary diagnosis of ASDConduct dynamic communication and language evaluations across receptive, expressive, and speech functioning domainsInterview and counsel patients and families about communication disordersPlan and implement case management, follow-up, and referralsDocument and report evaluation results clearly and accuratelyCollaborate within and across departments to support patient careFollow all hospital and departmental policies and proceduresContribute to AAC-related research and/or develop projects within the scope of the clinical roleDevelop clinical specialties within AAC and autism that further the mission of the ALPMinimum QualificationsEducation:Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language PathologyExperience:Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience using AAC tools (from no-tech to high-tech) in evaluation and treatmentMinimum of 1 year of clinical experience working with Level 2–3 autistic individuals with complex communication profiles (e.g., minimally speaking or non-speaking)Licensure/Certifications:ASHA Certification in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)Massachusetts SLP license or license eligibilityBoston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
