Position Overview The Internship position reports to the Manager of Quality, Training & Process Engineering for the Arkansas Kraft Division. This person will provide support throughout the mill by collaborating with various parts of the organization to optimize process systems through improvement projects that enhance safety performance, reduce costs, raise quality, increase production efficiently, and minimize downtime. This position will provide an accelerated development platform, exposure to a wide array of manufacturing processes, supplier development experience, customer service/technical service exposure, and a broad overview of career opportunities available within Green Bay Packaging. Responsibilities Work in a team environment. Participate in group problem solving activities, statistical data analysis activities, and facilitate the establishment of operational best practices. Provide leadership to maintain and improve safe working conditions and maintaining good housekeeping practices. Identify and complete immediate, short-term projects while maintaining a focus on long-term initiatives that support the Mill’s strategic vision. Participate in the development of operational training materials. Strive to maintain a knowledge base of the products, services, and capabilities of Green Bay Packaging. Qualifications High degree of self-motivation and able to work without daily direct supervision. Pursuing an undergraduate degree or certificate in Chemical engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, environmental science, accounting, electromechanical technology – instrumentation, or engineering physics; would consider other technical degree programs. The Intern should be a rising junior or above; other levels of education may be considered. Superior verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively deliver and reinforce consistent messages at all levels. Must be able to effectively troubleshoot, communicate, and utilize the resources of the Company to minimize process problems and waste. Serve as a resource that removes barriers and helps our front-line employees excel in all aspects of process improvement and variation reduction.
