In this high-impact role, you'll collaborate with leaders at every level to design, implement, and champion safety programs that go beyond compliance and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.This is your opportunity to be more than a policy enforcer—you’ll be a strategic partner, a people-focused coach, and a culture-builder.What You’ll DoLead enterprise-wide safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, and state regulationsDesign and implement proactive safety programs, training, and audits that reduce risk and support long-term safety successPartner with Operations, HR, and Environmental teams to align safety strategies with business goalsServe as a coach and mentor to safety professionals, building their capabilities and confidenceManage and improve key programs such as incident investigation, workers’ compensation, and return-to-workServe as a point of contact for regulatory agencies and external safety partnersPromote a strong safety culture by aligning policies with Charter’s values and engaging employees at every levelLead audits and develop corrective action plans in collaboration with internal teams and insurance partnersDevelop your team and champion leadership at every level—setting performance goals, providing coaching, and recognizing successWhat You BringBachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Health, or related field (Master’s preferred)7+ years of progressive safety experience with at least 4 years in a plant leadership roleExperience managing safety professionals and leading cross-functional initiativesStrong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety auditing, and risk mitigation strategiesA collaborative spirit, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence across functionsExperience with workers’ compensation, regulatory interaction, and return-to-work programsProficiency in Microsoft Office and the tools needed to manage complex safety dataPreferred QualificationsProfessional safety certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, PE)Background in manufacturing and industrial environmentsFamiliarity with Continuous Improvement, Quality Management Systems, or environmental healthEMT or First Responder CertificationWhy Charter?Charter is a values-driven, family-owned company with a long-standing commitment to employee safety, growth, and development.
