Job SummaryThis is a regular, full-time role. That’s why we give you a wide range of benefits to choose from.  All regular full time employees may enroll in a variety of health and welfare plans including medical, dental and vision plans.  Other benefits include life insurance, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and retirement program.  The company also has a variety of voluntary benefits for employees to choose from.CompensationCurrently, $37.00 - $39.00/hour, plus applicable shift premiums.ResponsibilitiesExhibit and maintain safe work and environmental compliance practicesInspect and lubricate plant machineryMaintain proper operations of plant equipment collects measurement and samples as neededOperate front end loader, bobcat, dump truck and other plant equipment to move materials as necessaryPerform inspections and local operations of plant equipment including crushing system, raw storage, reclaim transport systems, raw feed and crushing systems, kiln system, clinker cooler, clinker storage and transport systems, finish mill and cement storage systems; documents statusPerform cleanup duties in all areas of the facilityAssist Tower Attendant when necessary to help remove plugs/build-upsShoot coating and/or other build-ups in kiln via kiln gunAssist with kiln repairs when neededHandle and use high-pressure gas devices with Federal ATF, state, and county requirements which must be completedAssist in other plant operations as necessaryEducationHigh school diploma/GEDRequirements/QualificationsAbility to be cleared with the Federal ATF to handle explosives, upon hire (Cardox)Familiarity with computersAbility to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English languageKnowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility including systems to remove tower plugsPhysical requirements: sit, stand, stoop, bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours), walk long distances, climb (ladders, stairs, and stockpiles), stoop, crawl under and into enclosed spaces, and lift/carry 75 lbs. up stairsAbility to walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground) and climb on equipmentClimb stairs and ladders as high as 400 feet in elevationMust be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as requiredAbility to see and hear safety indicators and warningsMust work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln processWill have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protectionExposure to cement, clay, limestone and various chemicalsAbility to work in surroundings that include heat, dust, vibration, heights and confined spacesPreferred:Working in a cement manufacturing facilityTroubleshooting mechanical maintenance issues on plant equipmentConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
