Our snowcat operators work throughout the night preparing a world-class terrain park product for the enjoyment of our guests. These parks include a variety of features that provide an exceptional experience across a wide range of skill levels. The Terrain Park Snowcat Operator must work within a team environment and maintain a positive attitude throughout the season.WAGE:The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.Hourly pay range: $22.50-$28.50 based on experienceESSENTIAL DUTIES:Pre-operational checks of snowcats and other equipmentParticipation in nightly team meetingReceive nightly assignments from the Terrain Park Grooming SupervisorUnderstand the nightly terrain park maintenance objectivesSafe operation of slope grooming equipmentCompletion of assigned maintenance of terrain park featuresTransport, building and installation of terrain park rails and snow featuresPerform hand/rake work around terrain park features when neededAssist the trail groomers in completing the nightly slope maintenance planCompletion of other snowcat projects as assignedFueling of equipment using safe practicesPost-operational check of machines, clean off snow, clean cabMaintaining accurate logs on equipment usedCommunicating any equipment issues with the heavy equipment mechanicsHousekeeping of work areas/shop areas/equipmentMaintain a positive attitude throughout the seasonPerformance of other duties as directed.This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations. With the evolution of this resort and position, the responsibilities of this position may change.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS Valid, non-restricted motor vehicle driver's licenseMinimum 2 years of snowcat experience, strongly preferredHalf pipe/ Zaugg experience, preferredAdvanced knowledge of terrain park terminology and practicesAbility to ski/ride terrain park features, preferredReliable transportation to/from work at hours outside normal business hoursPunctuality and ability to meet assigned work scheduleAbility to work night hours, weekends and holidaysFirst aid training, preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:This position is required to work evenings and/or overnight, weekends and holidays while in operation.Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 60 pounds on an occasional basis, and a minimum of 20 pounds on a frequent basis.Ability to work for extended periods of time while seated.Manual dexterity to operate hand tools such as shovels and basic mechanic's tools.Ability to work outside in ANY AND ALL weather conditions, including but not limited to rain, snow, sleet, high winds, and cold temperatures.Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:This position description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for the role described above.
