We succeed through collaboration, curiosity, and a shared drive to deliver excellence in everything we do.     WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:   The Outside Sales Trainee identifies and generates potential sales leads. You will initiate and/or implement corrective action for complex customers and issues as needed in order to ensure that an excellent standard of service and a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.   The incumbent will plan and develop specific target markets and groups and develop the service “package” in conjunction with the project manager, territory account managers, and data entry clerk.  The person filling this position must be adaptable to an ever-changing business environment as departmental need changes and must demonstrate general business knowledge, an ability to develop customer relationships and a high level of confidentiality. Proactively reignites customer relationships and generates sales leads. Answers customer’s technical questions regarding products and services. Receives, processes and verifies the accuracy of orders from customers utilizing the company’s internal CRM/Axapta mainframe system and customer purchase orders. Initiates required action for response to customer service requests for order changes, including the maintenance of order/customer information files and communicates changes to the appropriate departments. Assists in validating entered orders and ensures that the correct codes are being applied prior to final confirmation. Collaborates with the scheduling/production department to make sure that the requested order(s) meet the customer’s expectations. Handles or refers complaints of product or service failure to the appropriate department for investigation. Prepares price quotations on items not contained in price book and prepares quotations. Works with the organization’s other branch/regional locations to resolve problems, facilitates solutions and enhance the customer service offerings. Modifies quote status once order has been placed to ensure visibility and uniformity amongst sales team. Supports and participates in the organization’s continuous improvement program and product training courses. Performs other related duties and provide back-up support to other group members as assigned by management.   Skills You Bring: A Bachelor’s degree preferred.  1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing role—preferably in Sales or Customer Service—or you're a recent college graduate eager to launch your career in outside sales. Ability to travel often the first 3 months between Houston and Louisiana. Proven ability to multi-task, stay organized, and deliver accurate, efficient work in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage with clients and collaborate across teams. Excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, time management, and active listening. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook. High attention to detail with the ability to gather and interpret data effectively. Comfortable performing calculations involving discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic geometry or algebra as needed.
