MedSurg/Tele Neuroscience - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience: • 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience is required with some in the last 24 months. • Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a California license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted. • COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. • COVID booster required after submission. MedSurg/Tele Neuroscience Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available. Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves “available” for extra shifts and make trades with other staff. Block scheduling is generally not available. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Floating Requirement: First to float. All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. Could also float to tele and MedSurg floors. Holidays: Rotate in with core staff Certifications: Prefer CNRN or SCRN certification. Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor. Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CVA, neuro surgical, neuro medical, and MST overflow patients. Prior to signing, the Dys exam (UNA) is required to be sent along with the acceptance. This must be completed within 24-48 hours. It’s a pass or fail and they get two attempts (Test A should be assigned first and if not passed, Test B should be assigned for the retake.) A screenshot showing the number of attempts is also required. Need 2 supervisor references from modality submitting to (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked. Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit. Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Xmas and New Years). Managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we would include this verbiage on the confirmation. Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed Facility holidays: 12/25/2025, 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1.
