Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently looking for a Controls Technician on 1st Shift to join our Rancho team! They will be reporting to our Maintenance Supervisor at our aerospace foundry Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company that has been in business for over 30 years! Hourly Rate: $29 - $33 DOE Essential Job Functions and Duties Installation and Maintenance Install, calibrate, and maintain automated control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, and other automation equipment Perform routine maintenance procedures to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal system performance Troubleshooting and Repair Identify, troubleshoot, and repair issues with control systems and related equipment to ensure minimal downtime Troubleshoot majority of high-tech plant equipment with no supervision Diagnose complex issues with electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC Programming and System Configuration Program and test control systems to ensure they meet specifications and operate correctly Troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Integrate VFDs with existing systems Calibration and Data Analysis Calibrate and adjust sensors, transmitters, and other components to ensure accurate readings and proper system operation Analyze data from control systems to identify trends, potential problems, and areas for improvement Documentation and Communication Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and system configurations Communicate technical information effectively to various stakeholders Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and electronic diagrams Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 3 years of hands-on electromechanical experience or formal education Experience in foundry trades desired Technical Skills PLC Systems: Proficient in PLC troubleshooting and programming Variable Frequency Drives: Experience with VFD troubleshooting and integration Electrical Systems: Ability to troubleshoot equipment from 24 VDC to 480 VAC Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical prints, and electronic schematics Testing Equipment: Knowledge and experience using electrical testing equipment Mechanical Skills: Skilled in the use of standard mechanical hand tools System Knowledge Strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems Knowledge of programming and control systems Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies and decision trees Proficiency in computer software and tools for programming, troubleshooting, and data analysis Safety and Equipment Operation Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to electrical and mechanical systems Ability to operate mobile maintenance equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts, and man lifts Personal Attributes Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills Good judgment and decision-making abilities Working Environment This position operates in a foundry environment with exposure to industrial equipment, electrical systems, and various mechanical systems. The role requires the ability to work at heights using lift equipment and in various plant conditions. Certifications and Licenses None required at time of hire.
