We strive to provide our employees with an experience, focused on supporting their physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing.Join the Johnson Controls family and thrive in a culture that values your voice and ideas.Your next incredible opportunity is just a few clicks away!Here's what we have to offerCompetitive pay plan.Paid vacation, holidays, and sick timeComprehensive benefits package, including 401K, medical, dental, and vision care - available from day oneExtensive product and on-the-job/cross-training opportunities, supported by our outstanding internal resourcesEncouraging and collaborative team environmentDedication to safety through our Zero Harm policyCompany vehicle, tools, and equipment provided to complete all jobsScheduling and management supportJCI Employee discount programs (The Loop by Perk Spot)What you will doReceive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctionsContact a customer representative and determine equipment/systems problemsDiagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products at customer sitesFollow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices and bulletins, modification notices, etc. to repair equipmentService, troubleshoot, and install many different manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnellRead and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manualsExhibit excellent customer service skills by consistently communicating with the district staff and customers to ensure customer happinessComplete Service Acknowledgements with accurate coding through communication devices, such as smartphones and laptop computersObtain the customer's signature upon completing the service call assignmentParticipate in a scheduled On-call rotationHelp to train or mentor others on the service teamPerform other duties as assignedWhat we look forRequired10+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control,  and Paging systems.Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals.Knowledge of test equipment, multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.High School Graduate or equivalentAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.Demonstrate a high level of customer service.Maintain truck inventory to ensure a timely response to customer needs.Ability to implement and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.Retain any licenses that are required by National, State, and Local codes.PreferredNICET Level II certificationHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.00 - $32.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location, and alignment with market data.)
