We value the diverse talents and experiences our employees bring to Patterson and believe that they build a stronger and successful organization.Job Description:The Small Equipment Repair Specialist is responsible for the inspection of, cleaning, repair, and condition testing for small dental equipment which could include sterilizers and handpieces.  These items are fully restored on site and returned to each customer in a like-new condition.Essential FunctionsTo perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position.Repair Dental Items to include but not limited to:Read schematics and diagramsDisassemble and clean itemsRepair and test to ensure items meet specification Use of hand tools to evaluate and repairAssist in identifying items that need to be sent to manufactures for repairInventory Control to include but not limited to:Monitor inventory levels and request parts stockTransfer parts between warehouses to complete repairsIncrease/decrease stock levels based on usageConduct annual physical inventory, as well as regular spot checksCommunication to include but not limited to:Contact manufactures for repair assistance or part inquiriesArticulate repair situations and findings with customersUtilize other team members for repair assistancePartner with customer experience coordinators to create customer repair estimatesComputer Skills to include but not limited to:Utilize Microsoft Office products to track repair informationProficient typing skills are necessaryJob QualificationsRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent  Must have a mechanical aptitudeExpresses strong customer service orientation through excellent written and verbal/phone communication skillsAbility to read and understand assembly drawing and instructionsUses technology with efficiency and possesses basic computer skills, including knowledge in Microsoft 365/MS OfficeAbility to positively contribute to the team environment by taking initiative to learn and improve upon skillsetsOutstanding troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent trade school completionPrevious repair experience or customer service experienceWorking ConditionsPhysical DemandsOperating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workdayMust be able to move equipment weighing up to 90 pounds onto workbench up to 4 times per day.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 percent of the time.Must be able to operate hand tools, including drills and buffers.Must be able to position self to repair equipment, sitting or standing for extended periods of timeThis position requires occasional or frequent moderate physical activityEnvironmental FactorsThis position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building.
