Job Description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Engineer to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. This position is onsite. Join the Navy's Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) program and contribute to the evolution of warfighter readiness. We provide critical engineering and technical expertise for the U.S. Navy's premier Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) training capability. Our work involves seamlessly integrating live training with synthetic systems to create highly realistic and complex global training environments. We also drive the development of advanced representations for joint, theater, and national systems, and model new weapons technologies and emerging threats, ensuring our forces are prepared for any challenge. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Design, configure, and deploy Cisco Collaboration solutions, including Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and Cisco IM & PresenceDevelop and implement VoIP network architectures that meet DoD and Navy standardsIntegrate VoIP systems with existing network infrastructure and ensure interoperability with other communication systemsPerform regular maintenance, updates, and patches to VoIP systems to ensure optimal performance and securityTroubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related issues, including call quality, connectivity, and configuration problemsProvide technical support and training to end-users and IT staff on VoIP systems and featuresEnsure Collaboration systems comply with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific communication requirementsImplement and maintain security measures, including encryption, access controls, and monitoring, to protect Collaboration communicationsConduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilitiesCreate and maintain detailed documentation of Collaboration system configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating proceduresGenerate reports on Collaboration system performance, usage, and security incidentsCollaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of VoIP systemsMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience in VoIP engineering, with a focus on Cisco voice technologiesExperience with designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco VoIP solutionsIn-depth knowledge or experience of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, Cisco IM & Presence, and related technologiesStrong understanding of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MGCP) and network protocols (TCP/IP, QoS)Familiarity with DoD security protocols and Navy-specific communication requirements​Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a DoD or Navy environment is highly preferredClearance Requirements:US Citizenship required and an active Secret clearancePhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Up to 25% travel or as needed.
