This role ensures timely and accurate billing, coding, collections, and reimbursement processes while driving compliance, operational efficiency, and financial sustainability. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep healthcare finance knowledge—especially within hospice or home health services—and a commitment to integrity and compassionate care.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all revenue cycle functions, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, collections, and denial managementEnsure regulatory and billing compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, and hospice-specific guidelinesDevelop and monitor KPIs to improve cash flow, reduce AR days, and enhance revenue performanceCollaborate with clinical, operational, and financial departments to align documentation and billing practicesOversee and mentor revenue cycle staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvementImplement technologies and process improvements to streamline workflow and maximize reimbursementAnalyze payer trends, contract performance, and reimbursement models to support strategic decisionsPrepare regular reports for executive leadership on financial outcomes, risks, and opportunitiesLead strategic payer engagement initiatives to optimize reimbursement processes for hospice services, including contract negotiations, payer relations, and resolution of complex billing issues, resulting in improved cash flow and reduced denial rates. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Economics or related field requiredMinimum of 5–7 years of progressive leadership in revenue cycle management, preferably within hospice or post-acute careDeep understanding of CMS regulations, hospice billing requirements, and insurance processesProven experience in payer engagement and contract negotiation within hospice or post-acute care settings, including managing payer relationships, resolving complex reimbursement issues, and driving improvements in denial management and cash flow.Proven experience with EMR systems and revenue cycle platforms (e.g HomeCare Home Base)Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skillsPreferred AttributesCertification in HFMA, CRCR, or other relevant professional revenue cycle credentialsPassion for hospice care and mission-driven environmentsExperience leading revenue cycle initiatives during organizational growth or change
