Job Description:The Nursing Internship is a skill-based, paid, position providing opportunities to gain valuable clinical skills while enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Under the direct supervision of a licensed RN, the nurse intern performs routine and technical aspects of nursing care to patients of all ages. The nurse intern adheres to the established scope of practice while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. The nurse intern contributes to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment that fosters healing and wellbeing. Units Available: Cardiac - Telemetry Critical Care Unit Intermediate Care Float/Swat Clinical Evaluation Unit Emergency Department Medical/Surgical Ortho Medical/Surgical Neurology NICU BirthCenter Home Health Procedural Units: OR/PACU & Cath Lab/IR Rotation Fargo Clinics Wahpeton Clinics Apply Online and attach your Resume Cover Letter that includes top 3 units of choice rated 1 to 3 Unofficial Transcripts **Application Deadline October 12th, 2025** Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Requirements: Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program Completion of junior year of a Bachelor’s Nursing Program or 2 clinical semesters of an Associates Nursing Program, graduating no later than the following June after the internship  Enrolled in a nursing co-operative internship course for the summer 2025 semester ND requirement only: In North Dakota, students participating in a senior internship must enroll in a nursing internship co-operative course for the corresponding fall and/or spring semesters  MN requirement only: In Minnesota, students may participate in a winter internship between fall and spring semesters, but must enroll in a nursing internship co-operative course for the corresponding J-term Must be able to commit to 30-36 hours/week Students with full/part-time summer class loads will have adjusted hour requirements and must be able to commit to 32 hours every two weeks Certification/Licensure Requirements:  Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month of hire   BCLS certifications through Red Cross must be renewed through the American Heart Association if continuing as a senior nurse intern   This certification must not expire during the internship.  *Please also note, this is a temporary status position and is not eligible for benefits** *** Essentia Health is an integrated health system serving patients in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
