Mobile Equipment Fleet Assistant/Fleet Mechanic - 1st ShiftLocation: Ypsilanti, MIShift: 1st Shift  Compensation: $38.50/hrJob SummaryJoin JLL's fleet operations team as a Mobile Equipment Fleet Assistant/Fleet Mechanic responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of mobile equipment and vehicles. This role combines preventative and predictive maintenance expertise to ensure optimal fleet performance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency in a manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on mobile equipment fleet to prevent breakdownsConduct routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on fleet vehicles and mobile equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on various fleet equipmentManage spare parts and replacement components inventory for fleet operationsComplete safety-related PM and repair tasks according to established schedulesRespond to help desk work orders within 24-hour timeframeMaintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in CMMSUtilize pre-task planning methods and participate in safety concern processesPerform general housekeeping in work areas and maintain organized shop environmentCoordinate with vendors and suppliers for specialized parts and servicesRequired SkillsTechnical Knowledge Experience with pumps, motors, speed/feed systems, and hydraulic systemsKnowledge of mobile equipment maintenance and repair proceduresUnderstanding of preventative and predictive maintenance principlesAbility to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance proceduresBasic knowledge of controller programs and diagnostic equipmentAdministrative & Communication Strong written and verbal communication abilitiesDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skillsExtensive knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to maintain accurate records and documentationLicenses & Certifications Current forklift and aerial lift operator licenses (or ability to obtain)Valid driver's license with clean driving recordPhysical ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various positionsCommitment to attend scheduled training and maintain certificationsPreferred Skills8-10+ years of facility or fleet maintenance experienceASE certification or equivalent automotive/equipment certificationKnowledge of MAXIMO or similar CMMS systemsExperience with heavy equipment, forklifts, and industrial vehiclesHydraulic system certification or trainingWelding and fabrication skillsManufacturing or industrial environment experienceAssociate degree in Automotive Technology or related fieldCDL license for operating larger fleet vehicles
