Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is hiring a full-time diesel mechanic to join our team in Fife, Washington. This is a great opportunity for experienced mechanics seeking stable, long-term employment with a company that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and career development.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Pay Range: $36.00 to $38.00 per hourAs a diesel mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of garbage trucks and trailers. You’ll work in a safety-focused environment using diagnostic tools and software to ensure our vehicles operate efficiently and meet all regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and trailersConduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with DOT and OSHA standardsUse diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Davie-4, Allison DOC) and laptops for troubleshootingDocument repairs, parts usage, and labor hours using fleet maintenance softwarePerform MIG welding and basic fabrication as neededTest drive vehicles to verify repairs and performanceMaintain a clean and organized shop environmentCommunicate with drivers and supervisors regarding vehicle issues and statusReview and complete repairs based on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs)Track and manage parts inventory and shop suppliesFollow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely disable equipment during maintenance and repairQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of experience in heavy truck maintenance and diesel repairIntermediate experience with diagnostic tools and softwareBasic tool set requiredValid Driver’s LicenseClass B CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain)Welding experience is a plusStrong understanding of vehicle safety standards and OSHA complianceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamSAFETY SENSITIVE: YESTo be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at .
