Description Leidos is seeking a Senior Systems Integration & Test Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team on the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) program. TFDM is a system that will improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. TFDM is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS). TFDM program is a Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management provides that efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integrated surface traffic control and management system.Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.Responsibilities:Perform testing in Physical and Virtual test labs to ensure the system, test procedure, and test inputs are prepared to execute with the customer presentPerform formal test execution with the customer and Quality Assurance organizations presentExecute procedures that verify the system is properly configured and operating in the NASCoordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnelDebug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issuesAble to understand System Level Requirements and perform system interface checkoutsWork with team lead to provide guidance to fellow test team members and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestonesExecute commands for remote support staff (ILE/Networking) and provide feedback to solve problems remotelyAnalyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software in regard to developing solutionsLearn system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancementsCollaborate with the TFDM system engineering team to develop test approaches for new and modified requirementsExecute commands for remote support staff (ILE/Networking) and provide feedback to solve problems remotelyAbility to conduct Testing at Air Traffic Control Towers (ATCT) in operational site conditions with the FAA customer when requiredPerform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizationsCoordinate activities, communication, and planning efforts with FAA and Leidos personnelAble to understand XML data and ability to troubleshoot connection issues with network configurations, IP addresses, JMS queue configurations, etc.Demonstrate test execution to the FAA on a run for record to achieve customer acceptance of the content per releaseBe able to support travel (10% of time)Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5+ years of professional experience; or a Masters degree with 3+ years of professional experienceAbility to obtain and maintain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customerExperience with UNIX/Linux operating, troubleshoot connection /network configurations skills   Experience in following a documented Integration and Test Development ProcessStrong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external customerWilling to collaborate with FAA customer on sites to build system knowledgeDesired Skills:Possess advanced integration skills and the ability to work independently in the following categories of integration:New system functionality integrationExternal Interface integration checkouts during risk reduction activitiesRegression testingAnalyzing identified issues and help determine a solutionProblem identification/analysisA good academic understanding and/or exposure to system engineering practices to contribute to and/or assist with system integration, requirements engineering, operational and decision analysis, systems definition, requirements baseline control and managementFAA Air Traffic Domain Knowledge Experience with formal test with a government agency/customerKnowledge of interfacing systems in the NAS such as FDIO, STARS, TBFM, ASDE-XAt Leidos, we don’t want someone who "fits the mold"—we want someone who melts it down and builds something better. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
