Buyer (Poultry Plant)

Report to Complex Purchasing Manager, assisting with daily operations. Utilize evaluation system for vendor quotes with appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques, ensuring quality, price, delivery and service. Manage and monitor procurement reporting systems. Recruit and maintain suppliers who provide high quality products and services while maintaining highest code of ethics and conduct. Prepare and issue purchase contracts and change notices. Review claims and contracts for conformance to Company policy. Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price and specifications. All other relevant duties as required. High School Diploma or equivalent required, with Bachelor degree preferred. Education may be considered in place of relevant work experience. 1+ year(s) buyer experience in poultry or meat category market preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient technology, computer, mathematical and analytical skills. Detail oriented.
