Commissioning Engineer – JLL is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Commissioning Engineer to provide reliable, timely, efficient support to our Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team.  The position entails working with a diverse group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of the organization, and the individual will require the independent judgement to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.  This successful candidate will be detail oriented with strong organizational skills, and a team player attitude.In particular, you will be responsible for carrying out the following duties specific to your position:Have fluency with all commissioning processes and deliverables covered in ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED commissioning requirementsExpertise in Mechanical and Plumbing equipment/systems inspections, testing and associated commissioning activities with a strong understanding of electrical, fire protection, and control systemsMonitor, review, and execute all facets of Commissioning related projects by providing exceptional technical and field activities.  In addition, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong management and technical functions throughout the design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases of projects.Liaise with facilities management and engineering services team members, outside consultants and contractors to assist CBA in leading cross functional teams on various projects.The candidate will protect JLL’s contractual position and ensure our work meets contracted requirementsUnderstanding and capability of how to develop strong Commissioning Plans and Commissioning SpecificationsManage or jointly manage commissioning projects developing commissioning activity schedules and sequence-of-work.Carry out field-based commissioning activities, including:Site visitsDevelop Start-up and test forms; witness and approve contractor executionDevelop Functional Test scripts; manage, direct and witness executionDevelop Integrated Systems Test scripts, direct and witness executionPerform Commissioning Design Drawing & Specification Reviews, as well as Submittal (shop drawing) reviewsChair Commissioning MeetingsHave fluency/understanding with how to use calibrated testing equipment used in the commissioning process (flow hoods, anemometers, pitot tubes, IR cameras, Power Quality Meters, various meters, etc.)Knowledge and experience in testing mechanical and HVAC&R systems including chilled water plants, AHUs/RTUs/DOAS units, boilers, thermal storage systems, building management & automation systems, fire protection systems, plumbing equipment and systems, and other commercial and industrial heating and cooling systemsDevelop, track and resolve issues using an Issues LogUnderstanding of how to develop and execute seasonal/performance testsAbility to write detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods-of-Procedures (MOPs)Ability to develop and compile project documentation into site/project specific Systems ManualsAbility to develop/review/evaluate training programs for installed equipment and systemsThe candidate will support, front to back, all of the project documentation requirements.  The intent is to be accountable for the preparation, review, and issuance of same, and though these tasks may be delegated, there may/will be the need to personally prepare them to meet the required timelinesThe candidate will perform, front to back, all of the field activity components.  This includes scheduling and coordinating JLL and project team members accordingly, ensuring our requirements are fulfilled by the contractor and relevant sub-trades, and maximizing efficiency/productivity of our staff.Additional ExpectationsWillingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA om as-needed basisAssist the team in meeting the demanding workloadAbility to manage multiple projects and assignments concurrentlyAbility to prioritize work assignments and tasks in alignment with business goals and demandsAbility to work individually and in a team environmentStrong troubleshooting & root-cause analysis skillsFee managementTime/Productivity managementConflict and personality managementQuality managementQualifications        Required:A recognized university technical degree or equivalent. Engineering Degree is preferredLEED AP certificationExperience in the use of mechanical testing meters and equipment and analyze and report on test results including portable data loggers, air flow meters, TAB reports, etc.Knowledge and experience in testing mechanical and HVAC&R systems including chilled water plants, AHUs/RTUs/DOAS units, boilers, thermal storage systems, building management & automation systems, fire protection systems, plumbing equipment and systems, and other commercial and industrial heating and cooling systemsA minimum of 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering and/or field-testing experience with minimum of 5 years in providing building commissioningStrong data management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in MS Project, Word, and ExcelDemonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedule inputs/performance data into a master schedule platform and deliver project/program status reports as required. Demonstrated ability to analyze and report against contractor (and other third party) schedule updates received      Desired:Professional Engineer/PE or PMP designation is considered an assetAny (or combination) of CEM/CBCP/CPMP designations is considered an assetMaster Mechanic License is not required but an assetWillingness and ability to travel internationally when neededWork fluency in Spanish and/or PortugueseAbility to use electrical testing meters and equipment and analyze and report on test results including Power Quality Meters (PQM), thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, megger, etc. is an assetExperience working in a consultancy or owner organization is an assetExperience working as a Facility Manager is an assetExperience working as an operating engineer in a data center or other mission critical facility is an asset
