Union Diesel Mechanic/Journeyman.Sanipac, a Waste Connections site in Eugene, OR has an immediate position open for a Diesel Mechanic/Journeyman to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks..Full-Time: Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:00am -12:30PM with occasional OT..Competitive Compensation:Starting Pay: $31.15 per hour DOE.Company Paid Union Pension PlanCompany Paid Comprehensive Healthcare, Dental, and VisionYou will be eligible for the comprehensive benefit package that has been negotiated by the Company and Union.Paid Holidays PTO + Vacation.Yearly Boot AllowanceYearly Safety BonusesMonthly Tool AllowanceCompany Provided Uniforms, Safety Gear, PPEGrowth opportunities- We pride ourselves on promoting from within.Responsibilities include:Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.Performs maintenance related work as required.Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.REQUIREMENTS:Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required)2+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair or completion of a diesel tech programClass B CDL OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.Provide personal tools.Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English..CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including:•             Background Check•             MVR Check•             Drug screen.*****To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at Application information and additional instructions can be found once you select your position of interest..Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
