We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe medical lab technologist/technician demonstrates the ability to competently perform routine and complex laboratory testing using manual and automated methods. Should be able to problem solve, and report a variety of lab procedures in the areas of Hematology, Immunohematology, Serology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Microbiology and Urinalysis with Little or no supervision. Must also demonstrate competency in specimen collection, performance of QC, equipment maintenance, participation in quality assurance and performance improvement activities, and other duties as assigned by the lab director/manager.Day to Day Operation - Assists in daily operation of the laboratory. Respect/Dignity - Promotes an environment of respect and dignity through positive communication; demonstrating sensitivity to coworkers needs in special/unusual situations; protecting the privacy of coworkers and patients.Competency - Maintains professional and technical competence in the laboratory setting.Technical Knowledge – Maintains technical knowledge and skills in all laboratory sections.New Material/Instrumentation/Testing - Takes responsibility for learning new material, testing, instrumentation, etc. that becomes incorporated into the department.Supplies - Updates supervisor on inventory status as needed.
