Medical Surgical Oncology - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 10 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience. • Experience with Epic is required from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Ohio license or compact license (required for submission). • This role will require floating to multiple units • Local & travel allowed. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. Previous Employment Requirements: Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location Required Skills/Experience: Must have MS oncology and at least 1 year hematology / oncology experience Skills Required: • MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry) • Telemetry monitoring • Interpretation of dysrhythmias • Use of Rapid Response Teams • Feeding tube care and management • Blood product administration • Central line blood draw • Peripheral line care/management • PICC line management • Nasal cannula administration Required Credentials: Chemo Certification - ONCC issuing body is also accepted Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Patient Diagnosis: • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult) • Amyloidosis • Aplastic Anemia • Chronic Leukemia • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) • Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia • Hodgkin’s Lymphoma • Multiple Myeloma • Myelodysplastic Syndrome • Myeloproliferative Disorders • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Special Procedures: • Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells. • Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin. • Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor. • CAR-T Therapy Types of Patients on Unit: Mixed acuity PCU and MS unit Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics Equipment Used on Unit: B450 monitors GE telemetry system, Bladder Scanner, Alaris pumps, Stryker beds Unit/Facility Details: 36 Rooms, 36 Beds Special Requests: RTO required with submission, must be built into contract Shift & Scheduling: No set schedule, no set weekends, no block schedule The facility determines the complete schedule, which may include working every weekend. Must be flexible. Number of Weekends: Variable based on unit needs Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 Request Floating Requirements: To other MedSurg Oncology units Details: • AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: Please request an interview for one match from this facility at a time.
