Physical Therapist- NBA The Physical Therapist (PT) plays a critical role in the health, performance, and recovery of professional basketball players. This position involves evaluating, treating, and managing musculoskeletal injuries, developing customized rehabilitation plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure athletes perform at their highest level while minimizing injury risk. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in [State]. Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sports or orthopedic physical therapy Certification in manual therapy techniques (e.g., SFMA, FMS, ART, MDT) is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative team mindset. Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to travel during the NBA season. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with return-to-play protocols specific to basketball. Familiarity with performance tracking technologies and athlete management systems (e.g., GPS, force plates, EMR software). Experience in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with elite athletes. Bilingual or multilingual is a plus. What You’ll Do: Evaluate and treat acute, subacute, and chronic musculoskeletal injuries in professional basketball athletes. Develop and implement evidence-based rehabilitation programs tailored to individual player needs and performance goals. Collaborate with team physicians, athletic trainers, strength & conditioning coaches, and performance staff to provide integrated care. Provide manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities (e.g., dry needling, cupping, soft tissue mobilization). Monitor player progress through objective measures and adjust rehab plans accordingly. Travel with the team during regular season and playoffs, providing on-site therapy and recovery support. Document all treatments, assessments, and injury data in compliance with league and team standards. Participate in return-to-play protocols and functional testing for injured players. Contribute to injury prevention strategies, workload management, and biomechanical assessments. Stay current with advances in sports physical therapy and incorporate innovative methods where appropriate. Assist with pre-season screenings and off-season training programs as needed. Other duties as assigned during the off-season to maintain full-time employee status Working Conditions: Travel with team during home and away games. Work in training rooms, courtside, locker rooms, and team facilities.
