Description Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an Associate Project Manager who will work alongside lead engineers and account managers supporting distribution engineering projects for various electric utility clients throughout the Southeastern United States. The APM will be part of an established team within our Power Delivery Solutions (PDS) division. PDS provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities for comprehensive engineering design of electrical transmission, substation, and distribution projects nationwide.As a valued team member, you can look forward to a fast paced, diverse work environment and flexible work hours/work arrangements, as well as managers who will encourage career development and growth opportunities, including:Project Management Professional (PMP) Formal Mentorship programsDevelopmental Leadership trainingTechnical Upskilling Oppportunities Management opportunities Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist project managers to manage various sized distribution line design projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilitiesAccept responsibility for overall project performance and reportingEnsure project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans with a focus on change management, to stay within approved limitsCommunicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnelCreate and maintain resource loaded schedulesCoordinate with Engineering Leads to track and execute client deliverablesAssist with the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates and responses to Requests for ProposalComplete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time framesFull-time or Hybrid office attendance required in Atlanta, GA (3 days in office, 2 days work from home at a minimum) Required Qualifications:A minimum of 1 year of experience in engineering design or project management related roleBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related discipline is requiredMust be capable of planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasksMust be capable of tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasksAbility to take direction from and discuss decisions with the direct supervisor, and to coordinate with project team membersExperience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)Strong written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective mannerPeriodic travel may be required; Candidates should possess a valid US driver's licensePreferred Qualifications: Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery servicesIdeal Candidates will have a desire to obtain PMP CertificationExperience with project management software (e.g., Workfront, MS Project or P6)Please Note that Sponsorship and other immigration related monetary benefits are not available for this position.
