We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsJob Summary:Provides care for patients requiring CT procedures. Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying computerized ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Operates the CT equipment safely and maintains A.L.A.R.A. standards while performing all types of procedures. Operates equipment setting appropriate technical factors to produce diagnostic quality images according to radiology practice standards, minimize patient dose, and relay images along with pertinent clinical information to the physician for interpretation. Assists with inventory management and patient scheduling. Is current in Radiologic (X-ray) positioning and can perform duties of Radiology Tech when assigned. Participates in the establishment of scan protocols and in execution of specific applications, and responsible for contrast administration. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and medical staff. Takes on-call as assigned to provide after-hours coverageResponsibilities:Responsible for the provision of high-quality exams while working in a team oriented highly productive and complex environment. Responsible for quality assurance activities on technical equipment and working with appropriate parties to resolve image quality issues. Communicates effectively with patient care team to answer the associated clinical care questions. Demonstrates flexibility through work schedules, lunch coverage, area coverage, etc. Practices responsible use of communication tools (e.g. telephones, email, FAX, internet, etc.) Always verifies patient identity, by using two patient identifiers; utilize armband and making verbal identification with patient. Always verify physician orders and diagnosis matches exam order. Performs CT examinations according to the manual, Radiologist and Medical Staff. What qualifications you will need:(ARRT-R) RadiographyAssociate DegreeBasic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer must be obtained within 30 days of employment start dateHCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221-bed acute care hospital.
