ResponsibilitiesAssists Registered Nurse with care of patients by observation and recording of cardiac rhythms according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols, under the supervision of the RN and within the scope of their certificationAccurately identifies cardiac dysrhythmiasCommunicates any changes to the appropriate persons, and records rhythm strips every four hours and with any change in rhythm. Provides other nursing units with a summary of telemetry activity at the end of each shift. Provides direct patient care and assists in required duties to assure the delivery of holistic care, patient dignity, and quality of life to each patient. Contributes to the assessment of health status by collecting and recording objective and subjective data.Completes all documentation within departmental requirements and timelinesGreets and acknowledges all customers in a friendly and courteous manner.Participates in the responsible management of all departmental/hospital resources QualificationsJob Requirements:High School or GEDCurrent CNA Certification in the State of IdahoCurrent BLS certificationMust successfully complete an approved course in cardiac dysrhythmia recognition AND have satisfactory performance on a written dysrhythmia identification examinationPreferred Job Requirements:Knowledge of medical terminologyPrior Monitor Tech or EKG training
