Senior Psychometrician-Neurology ( The Woodlands)

At Houston Methodist, the Sr Psychometrician position is responsible for providing high-quality services in administering and scoring neuropsychological and psychological tests, performing neuropsychological evaluations, and writing reports when directed, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist. This position also participates in divisional activities where appropriate and department initiatives, identifying and assisting with opportunities for performance improvement activities for programs. The Sr Psychometrician position serves as a mentor and resource to team members and clinical students, utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and develop others and achieve optimum performance levels for clinic assigned. PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProvides guidance and training for clinical students, acting as a resource and mentor. Develops skills of team members and continually assists with improving skills, performance, and outcomes. Role models interprofessional communication. Coaches staff to use efficient and effective communication to establish and maintain a team environment, and to include the patient and family as a part of the team regarding their plan of care.Collaborates with interprofessional team members to provide clinical expertise, providing appropriate clinical judgment and support interprofessional healthcare team.Identifies levels of conflict and applies tools to effectively resolve concerns, complaints or conflict with coworkers, patients, families, physicians and other interprofessional healthcare team members. Drives initiatives towards improvement of department scores for turnover/retention/employee engagement.SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdministers neuropsychological evaluations under the direction of the licensed psychologist. Assists in report formatting and writing when directed by licensed psychologist.Completes assignments that include data collection and entry, and basic analysis when directed by section head.Conducts presentations/lectures as required by section head.Contributes towards improving department scores for patient satisfaction on scorecard through peer-to-peer accountability.QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAdministers and scores all paper-and-pencil and computerized neuropsychological and psychological test instruments as directed by senior staff member within the generally designated time limitations set forth in Neuropsychology.Maintains records as directed by division guidelines.Identifies opportunities for process improvement providing recommendations impacting quality and safety targets, collaborating with the interprofessional team. Contributes to meeting department and hospital targets for quality and safety.FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWorks in conjunction with department to reduce any waste of resources and materials and perpetuate financial stewardship and growth.GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSParticipates in specified division clinical education programs, division meetings and psychometrics meetings.
