What this job involves: The Maintenance Mechanic assists the Operations Manager / Chief Engineer and/or Regional Operations Manager in directing the engineering services operation and maintenance of all assigned buildings. This role provides direct support to field operations, performance metric tracking and reporting.What your day-to-day will look like:Provide guidance and technical support to the teamMaintain staffing schedules for responsible areas in connection with planning, scheduling and execution of engineering/maintenance workFurnish mechanics with basic data required in effecting overall and long-range planningMake recommendations for systems improvement and capital projects through immediate supervisor or managementFurnish the Operations Manager / Chief Engineer or Regional Operations Manager with information related to criticality of buildingsMaintain liaison with Operations Manager / Chief Engineer or Regional Operations Manager regarding work orders, job completion dates and priorities and estimatesSupport preparation of monthly/quarterly operations reportsPlan schedule of work and vendors in accordance with established prioritiesCoordinate purchasing and inventory control proceduresDistribute and oversee work orders assignments amongst the teamPerform weekly on-site Quality Assurance inspections of maintained facilitiesRespond effectively to all emergenciesComply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate themComply with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materialsParticipate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentRequired Qualifications:High school diploma, GED or equivalent required3 years of experience in repair and building maintenanceExcellent communication skills, both oral and writtenPossess mechanical and electrical aptitudeWorking knowledge of computer-based applications and programs including Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookAbility to lift up to 80 lbs.Preferred Qualifications:Completion of an applicable technical training program5+ years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in technical aspects of repair and building maintenance.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift starting 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Will transition to a swing shift within a few months when comfortable working semi-independently.
