Individual audit objectives will vary but could include 1) reviewing financial statements for irregularities, 2) verifying that distributions made to LifeBridge Health are complete and accurate, 3) assessing the control environment at the various joint ventures and subsidiaries, and 4) other projects such as due diligence. Position may from time-to-time audit LifeBridge Health (Sinai, Northwest, Carroll, and Levindale).   RESPONSIBILITIES: Based on the annual audit plan, creates the planning memos and test plans for each of the assigned audits. Researches auditee and audit area to gain an understanding of their business and the applicable rules and regulations. Obtains and reviews internal policies and procedures related to audit areas. Creates the audit plan (scope, test procedures, etc.). Creates and distributes document request lists to auditees. Assists staff auditors as needed. Executes the audit program for the assigned audits. Performs and documents walkthroughs to understand the control environment of the audit area and auditee. Prepares the risk and control matrix. Executes test procedures as assigned. Prepares organized workpapers to document and support accurate conclusions. Provides recurring status updates to the auditee, the LifeBridge Management Team, and the Internal Audit Manager as to audit progress. Reviews the workpapers of and provides review comments to staff auditors on an as needed basis. Generates accurate conclusions which are relevant and appropriate for the auditee's size and scope of business. Analyzes financial statements in order to identify any irregularities or areas to be audited. Creates draft reports for assigned audits. Provides value-added recommendations to strengthen the control environment. Leads meetings to discuss the results of audits with key stakeholders. Gathers and organizes management responses. Assists with other projects as assigned. Participates in LifeBridge’s annual risk assessment and creation of the annual audit plan. Follows up on prior audits to ensure that Management’s action plans have been implemented. Helps to educate various internal stakeholders on new and changing policies, rules and regulations as they relate to audit areas. Responds to requests made by external service providers as appropriate. The Senior Internal Auditor continuously seeks opportunities to build their network and skill-set. Builds and maintains good relationships with internal stakeholders. Maintains working knowledge of healthcare industry rules, regulations and trends. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years of relevant internal auditing experience. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field is preferred. CPA, CIA, or CISA preferred.
