We’re seeking a GIS Sustainment Engineer to design and deliver robust, scalable services for ingesting, storing, and querying geospatial data at scale. You’ll tackle complex backend challenges, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and performant. If you’re passionate about geospatial technology and building solutions that make an impact, this is the role for you.Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support the deployment, integration, and ongoing operation of enterprise GIS tools, with a focus on Esri Enterprise and open-source technologies. Collaborate with software and systems engineers to integrate, document, and support analytic capabilities within for geospatial use case. Diagnose and resolve issues across commercial and open-source technology stack, including networking, automation workflows, and infrastructure components. Effectively communicate technical concepts to multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and collaboration across roles. Minimum Qualifications:U.S. citizen with active TS/SCI clearance; willing to work onsite 80% or as mission needs dictate.Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.4+ years of experience deploying and maintaining GIS capabilities in operations, including transitioning and maintaining software solutions with the Esri Enterprise stack in secure environments.Proficient in Python, R, Java, JavaScript, and Bash, with experience in Linux system administration and scripting.Experience deploying and maintaining commercial, open-source, and custom applications.Effective communicator capable of collaborating with geographically distributed operations and development teams.Preferred Qualifications:CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access; U.S. citizen required for government computing environments.Strong Linux skills with experience in hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures and DevSecOps practices.Proficient in Postgres design/optimization, distributed processing (REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS), and developing/deploying web services.Experience with big data technologies, including Accumulo, Spark, Hive, Hadoop, and ElasticSearch.Experience working with open-source resources in government computing environments; military/intelligence analyst experience or familiarity with IC PED systems is a plus.Pay Transparency: In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions.
