Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience. • BSN completion preferred Requirements: • Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission). • This role may require floating to additional units and locations • Local & travel allowed. Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Multi-system organ failure, Obtain 12 lead EKG, ECMO, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Sheath Removal, Ventricular Assist devices (LVAD/RVAD), IV insulin protocols, Chronic/Acute Renal failure, CVVHD/CRRT, Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Emergency Medications, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips, CVA/Acute Stroke management, ICP monitoring, Assist with management of BiPAP, Assist with management of CPAP, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT), Ventilator Management, Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac. Preferred Skills/Experience: Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia, CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft),Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Continuous IV paralytics/Neuromuscular blockade, Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration, Hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, Spinal cord injury. Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: • Acute MI, Respiratory Failure, COPD Exacerbation, pneumonia, COVID, PE, DKA, HHNK, Angioedema, Unstable Angina, acute renal failure, hypertensive crisis, cardiac arrest, acute CVA, drug overdose, poison overdose, sepsis, rhabdomyelisis • TPA administration and monitoring, manual proning, Bilevel/APRV ventilation, trach care, ETT care, post cath care including sheath monitoring and removal, targeted temperature management, IABP management, continuous renal replacement therapy, cardiac output monitoring, transvenous pacing Types of Patients on Unit: Adults, Geriatrics Equipment Used on Unit: Flotrac monitoring, IABP, Rotoproner, Swan-Ganz pulmonary artery catheters, external transvenous pacers, hiflow oxygen Unit/Facility Details: • 24 Beds; 24 Rooms • References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. • A valid driver’s license will be required if driving on behalf of MedStar Health is an essential function of the job. Special Requests: Interview: Manager may or may not interview. Traveler must be OK with this. If Traveler has questions, please email the AM. Shift & Scheduling: Every Third Weekend Coverage Details: • AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: Please request an interview for one match from this facility at a time. You will not interview with the hiring manager if the facility chooses to extend an offer to you for this position. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined. 7 days maximum time off.
