Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Must have at least 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience. • 3 months of travel experience is required from any number of months. • BSN completion preferred Requirements: • Candidates must have a District of Columbia license (required for submission). • This role will require floating to multiple units • Local & travel allowed. Previous Employment Requirements: Return Staff Policy If a nurse has held previous employment with Medstar, must be gone for a minimum of 1 year to return as a traveler. Required Skills/Experience: IV Starts. 2 yrs including a year or more of Med-Surg or Rehab. Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Encephalopathy. Types of Patients on Unit: Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics. Unit/Facility Details: Ratio: This facility is using a Team Based Model. RN, PCT/CNA/Tech and LPN travelers need to be informed up front of the following* MS and MS/T nursing units at MedStar facilities transitioned to a teams-based model of care which impacts ratios and patient allocation. This model will roll out incrementally to include 5 components: a) RN + PCT/CNA/Tech b) RN + PCT/CNA/Tech + LPN (as LPNs are available/hired) c) Virtual Nurse d) Lead PCT e) Virtual sitters Special Requests: RTO must be on the submittal and cannot be changed once the profile has been sent to the manager for review. Shift & Scheduling: Weekend Coverage: EOW Floating Requirements: Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
