Description Leidos is seeking a Senior System Integration & Test Engineer who will be a lead member of a dynamic team who will be working on the Federal Aviation Administration’s Terminal Flight Data Management (TFDM) program. TFDM is a system that will improve aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. TFDM is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).Location: Gaithersburg, MD (3 days a week onsite and 2 days a week from home office)Responsibilities:Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will:Optimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities of flight controllersLead the technical execution and testing of multiple parallel builds and collaborate with customers on driving activitiesWork directly with system integrators, program leadership, and cross teams to identify functional, usability and performance deficiencies and provide recommendations for improvementsCollaborate on developing and coordinating operationally relevant test strategies and evaluation test proceduresDefine and develop Test processes and procedures in support of functional and system testing within fast paced development environmentDevelop and reinforce an overall team goal of high quality, test efficiencies, and on time results to meet program schedulesProduce Test Evaluation Reports, Status Reports for active build testing and provide inputs to Government Test & Evaluation Strategy, Test & Evaluation Master Plan, Test Procedures, Test Readiness Reviews, and Final Test ReportsAssists other engineers in the design and execution of tests, analysis of data, and the reporting & documentation of results, including the interpretation of the significance of the findingsAble to integrate complex software with little to no outside supportDebug system level issues and provide detailed supporting data on identified issuesAble to understand System Level RequirementsProvide guidance to test team and ensure team goals are appropriately set to meet all program milestonesDeveloping and maintaining test approaches and procedures derived from requirementsAnalyze identified issues in conjunction with System Engineering and Software in regards to developing solutionsSupport test and requirement verification & validationLearning system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the integration and test of the new capabilities and enhancements.Act as technical liaison between system test integrators and software development teams to ensure seamless integration of content across multiple releases.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Executing tests manually in the Physical Lab and Virtual Test Lab (VTL)Perform formal test execution with the customer and quality assurance organizationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9+ years of professional experience; or a Master’s degrees from an accredited college in a related discipline with 7+ years of professional experienceAbility to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.Experience leading and directing activities of a teamExperience in following a documented Integration and Test Development ProcessExperience in the use of UNIX and Linux operating systemsStrong integration skills with hands-on experience integrating large software complex systemsStrong communication skills to interface with internal and external customersDesired Skills:The successful candidate will possess advanced integration skills and the ability to work independently in the following categories of integration:New system functionality integrationPR verificationRegression testingData Reduction & AnalysisAnalyzing identified issues and helping to determine a solution with System Engineering and Software EngineeringProblem DeterminationA good academic understanding and/or exposure to system engineering practices to contribute to and/or assist with system integration, requirements engineering, operational and decision analysis, systems definition, requirements baseline control and management.Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environmentAir Traffic Knowledge and experience working on Air Traffic programsExperience with conducting formal test with a government agency / customerCome break things (in a good way).
