(Scroll down to the "Caring for You" section) POSITION SUMMARY: If you are passionate about leading a staff to outfit guests who may be new to the sport of skiing or riding, then the Arapahoe Basin Rentals Manager position may be the job for you. The Rentals Manager leads and is ultimately responsible for the vision, direction, and execution of the Rentals and Tune Shop operations. This includes: ensuring an exceptional guest experience, training and leading rental and tune shop staff, buying and tracking equipment, working in conjunction with the A-Basin Snowsports School to meet their operational goals, and guiding the overall operation to be profitable. This is a seasonal position, with a 10-month work schedule. WAGE: The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high ends of Arapahoe Basin's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, and responsibilities. The range listed is just one component of Arapahoe Basin's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits. Pay Range: This exempt position is compensated over a 10-month period. The pay range for this role is $49,911 to $69,876 for the 10-month term, which equates to $2,303 to $3,225 per bi-weekly pay. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Manage all aspects of the Rentals department, including day-to-day operations, staff performance, hiring, training, scheduling, and payroll, all while driving sales and providing high-quality guest servicePlan and coordinate overall rental and tune projects while delegating daily tasks to staff; communicate progress with the VP of OperationsOversee the technical training and binding certification training of Rentals staffBe responsible for the operational and fiscal success of the Rentals department including: managing the budget and labor, tracking inventory, maintaining the tune shop's machinery and equipment, and keeping a clean and organized facilityBuy equipment, including: skis, snowboards, boots, helmets, bindings, etc.; maintain inventory rotationOversee the sale of equipment leaving the rental fleet at the end of the season to maximize financial goalsManage the upkeep of equipment, ensuring that bindings and boots meet all recommended ASTM standards and industry best practices and that they perform well for guestsOversee the upkeep of Winter Sports building, in conjunction with Building Maintenance department; manage lockers as a guest service and as a revenue centerWork with the Guest Services and Snowsports departments to create the best experience and value for first- and second-time skiers/ridersWork with all other operations across the ski area to achieve the company's vision, values, keys to success, goals, and strategies; help out in other departments as needed in the off-seasonConduct off-season maintenance on both rental gear and the physical Winter Sports buildingTrain and encourage employees to actively participate in sustainability initiatives and support them in maintaining sustainable practicesPerform other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years of previous experience managing or co-managing an operation, including staffAt least 3 years of previous experience working in a ski/snowboard rental and tune shopPrevious experience in customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsStrong leadership skills (in setting expectations for a team of individuals and then holding them accountable)Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and OutlookOrganizational skills with strong attention to detailAbility to problem-solve (quickly identify issues and resolve problems)Working knowledge of ASTM Binding certifications, ski and snowboard tuning, ski and snowboard components, bindings, and bootsMust be available on weekends and holidays.This position requires successful completion of a background check EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Basic ability to use hand tools.Ability to stand and walk for a 10-hour shift.Ability to lift boots, bindings, and skis frequently throughout each shift.Ability to operate tuning equipment and general tools.Use full range of body motion: bend, twist, kneel, push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to navigate stairs.Must withstand high altitude conditions at all times.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily- reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORKING CONDITIONS: You will work almost 100% indoors but in a high-altitude environment. Most work is performed in a highly trafficked area in view of guests. A very high amount of guest interaction is required for this role. Exposure to ski tuning machinery is frequent.
