Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months. • Preferred 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience. • Experience with Epic is preferred from any number of months. • Experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months. Requirements: • Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission). • Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted. • Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted. Wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation and escalations Equipment Used on Unit: IV pumps: Plum 360 Monitors: Spacelabs Unit/Facility Details: 6 North Trauma Surgical -Beds: 23 - Patient Types: General Surgery and Vascular surgeries 5 South Neuroscience - Beds: 33 - Patient Types: CVA, TBI, Seizure, AMS, Spinal Fusion, Craniotomy, Degenerative Diseases, post trauma, angiogram 5 North MedSurg/Oncology Beds: 39 Patient Types: All patient types except stroke and MI, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal. MS/Oncology patients 1:6 for RN and LPNs Skills required: Trach care, chest tubes, PEG tubes, wound care, drains, foleys, IV starts; Chemo administration, if certified. 4 South Clinical Decision Unit Beds: 18 Patient Types: General MedSurg COPD, CHF, Diabetes, MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, COVID, Pneumonia, Renal Failure, Sepsis, UTI, End of Life Comfort Skills required: Assessment, prioritization, communication and documentation skills. 3 South Orthopedics Beds: 20 Patient Types: Orthopedic and spine: Joint replacements, fractures, fusions, laminectomies, etc. Skills required: PCA pumps, wound care (negative pressure dressing), dressing changes, foley, drains (hemovacs/JP drains) 3 North MS/Ortho/Urology Beds: 23 Patient Types: Urology, ENT, ortho, MedSurg Skills Required: Trach, wound care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, follow nurse-driven foley protocol. Parking: Parking deck only 2nd through 4th levels Shift & Scheduling: Every Other Weekend, Holiday Expectations: One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy Floating Requirements: Any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds) 10 days maximum time off.
