Role Overview: Join Sodexo and Inspire a Team Committed to Quality and Sustainability RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE!  Sodexo's Campus Segment  is seeking a General Manager 2 to lead dining services at UMaine Machias, a small state university featuring one resident dining facility, one retail operation, and catering services. This role works closely with five sister campuses throughout Maine, with a strong focus on sustainability and sourcing local foods. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dining operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious, and sustainable meals that support student well-being and academic success.The University of Maine at Machias (UMaine Machias) is Maine’s coastal university, located in the historic town of Machias along the state’s scenic Bold Coast. What You'll Do: Lead and manage all daily dining operations, including resident dining, retail, and catering services, ensuring exceptional food quality and customer satisfactionRecruit, train, supervise, and develop dining services staff, fostering a motivated and high-performing teamOversee food preparation and service with a focus on nutrition, sustainability, and locally sourced ingredients aligned with university valuesEnsure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a safe and clean dining environmentCollaborate with university departments and sister campuses to coordinate dining services for campus events and special programsManage operational budgets, control food and labor costs, and maximize efficiency while maintaining quality servicePromote sustainability initiatives including waste reduction, recycling, and support for local food systemsCreate a welcoming and inclusive dining atmosphere that enhances the student experience and supports community engagementMonitor customer feedback and implement continuous improvements in service and operations What We Offer: Compensation is fair and equitable, partially determined by a candidate's education level or years of relevant experience.
