As a member of the Health Support Center (HSC) team, you'll support those that are in our facilities who are interfacing and providing care to our patients and community members to positively impact our mission of making communities healthier ®.More about our teamThe Legal Services Consultant is responsible for management and provision of services related to contracts, regulatory compliance, and other legal needs for Lifepoint-affiliated hospitals and the Health Support Center (HSC), including Legal Department initiatives to deliver and improve those services, and demonstrates the Core Values and the High Five Guiding Principles foundational to LifePoint.Support LifePoint facilities and HSC corporate departments on matters related to referral source agreements and other agreements that require pre-approval, including, but not limited to drafting agreements; uploading Process Manager requests into MediTract as needed by facilities and/or HSC corporate departments; and providing MediTract and policy training to both facilities and HSC corporate departments for new and existing MediTract users. This is a part-time PRN position How you'll contributeA Legal Services Consultant who excels in this role:Serve as the primary contact for hospital and HSC contract, compliance, and policy-related questions.Address and/or triage hospital and Division leadership questions to ensure proposed facility vendor relationships are in line with HSC directives and business goals.Assist HSC attorneys and HSC department staff on an as-needed basis with HSC global projects and hospital initiatives.Draft, analyze, and review facility and HSC corporate department contracts related to facility and/or HSC operations; use independent judgement to determine appropriate methods of revision to aid facilities in keeping current contracts compliant with regulations and Company policies.Analyze and review submitted documentation, including compensation terms and fair market value support, proformas, and other required supporting document(s) to ensure legal and policy compliance.Serve as subject matter expert over contracts administration function and proactively drive progressive change through efficient processes and use of technology, including, but not limited to managing the Legal SharePoint site, ServiceNow, and other systems that are rolled out at the HSC from time to time.Oversee and manage 120-day contract expiration reports for each hospital to ensure legal and policy compliance, including review of contract history to advise hospital leaders and counsel of pending critical action dates such as expiring FMV or other directives.Manage existing MediTract reports and create new MediTract reports when requested. Train and provide ongoing support to local hospital contract administrators in the use of the contract management system, LPNT-required documents and policies, and contract drafting using Company templates.Oversee and manage the complete life cycle process for contract renewal, amendments, new agreements, and terminations with each assigned hospital in order to keep all contracts current and compliant in the contract management system.Assess agreement terms to determine appropriate business leaders and subject matter experts to be included in contract review and negotiations, which includes revision of the terms of the agreement to ensure potential vendor relationship(s) are in line with service line directives and company business goals.Collaborate with various departments at the Health Support Center (HSC) to integrate new and existing contracts into the contract management solution.Manage day-to-day activities associated with LifePoint's contract management solution and expand its scope and usage to ensure contract management best practices are being followed, including Technical Review Board (TRB) approval and other HSC department policies.Assistance with and analysis of integration of newly acquired hospital(s) and hospital systems into contract management database, including establishing access, codifying existing contracts, and uploading of information. Post-integration, monitor newly acquired hospitals' agreements for potential audit and policy issues.Adhere to all LifePoint legal and other department policies.Participate in asset acquisitions and divestitures, including assisting with onboarding of new facilities and analyzing and compiling due diligence materials for acquisitions and divestitures.Respond to and triage legal requests in appropriate priority and communicate plans for addressing needs to hospital leadership and assigned lawyer. Monitor and report potential violations related to contracting and assisting in tracking reportable events and applicable Stark exceptions to ensure that regulatory limitation on use is not exceeded. Monitor operational trends at LifePoint to develop processes, templates, and training, utilizing available technologies to improve and promote efficiency, consistency, and compliance with regulatory and business requirements.
