We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Supervisor of Microbiology performs, as needed, all technical, analytical, clerical, and quality assurance tasks and duties associated with microbiology testing to support patient care, as well as accepts Tech In-Charge duties. He / She acts as a resource and educator for other CLS personnel, other laboratory staff, and hospital personnel. The incumbent also represents the department to accreditation and governmental surveyors.You will ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained throughout the entire testing process: preanalytical, analytical, post analytical.You will establish, maintain, and monitor Quality Control/Quality Assurance programs appropriate for the type of testing performed.You will oversee implementation of new equipment/testing procedures.You will develop and maintain technical/analytical knowledge and expertise in the specialty and acts as a resource.You will provide leadership and guidance to other members of the healthcare team in the provision of patient care.What qualifications you will need:Current State of California Department of Health Services Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License.Bachelors Degree - College degree in Biological Sciences (BA or BS)One (1) year or more experience as a CLS II at Good Samaritan Hospital preferred. Two (2) years experience in microbiology lab required.Good Samaritan Hospital has been serving Silicon Valley since 1965, giving patient's access to highly-trained physicians and advanced technology.
